The aqua sensor measures the temperature of water in the boiler, which then exits as steam. Its reading enables you to control the hot water and determine if pressure is built.

The coil sensor measures the temperature of the coil. (That pipe through which cold water enters into boiler and exits once warm? That’s the one!) Its reading is used for hot water settings, and the sensor also notifies the manager of any issues with the coil, such as mineral buildup.

The mix sensor is applied to the domestic hot water line after the mixing valve, which tracks the hot water being sent to tenants that must legally be at 120°. These valuable readings provide the manager with the assurance that the mixing valve is functioning properly, and when excessively high or low temperatures are detected, the sensor generates an automatic e-Lert.

The stack sensor is used to determine the temperature of the exhaust heat leaving the boiler. How does that help? Simple: Excessively high temperatures indicate that too much heat is leaving the boiler. A helpful e-Lert reminds you to correct the issue by cleaning the boiler’s tubes or filters.

In the event that a boiler loses water, it may corrode the building and cause costly damage. Thankfully, EnTech is smarter than your average boiler and adds a water meter to track every added gallon passing through the feed into the boiler. An excessively high gallon count will then alert the manager of a possible leak in the return lines or the boiler, allowing you to plug the problem before it escalates.

Measuring the temperature of water returning to the boiler, the return sensor is a nifty little device that informs you if heat was provided with a simple glance at the temperature reading. It’s simple, smart, and effective, and can also be used for controlling the heat.

As its name indicates, the highly accurate out sensor is installed outdoors and, along with the data pulled from apartment sensors, calls for heat (based on outdoor temperatures). For even greater accuracy, the local weather forecast is implemented in the out setting, ensuring that heat is distributed as needed, even if the out sensor is in the sun’s path.

At EnTech, we believe strength is found in numbers – especially when it comes to collecting accurate temperature data. Space sensors are installed in apartments (or offices) throughout your building as requested, as well as in every apartment on the top floor. Together, the network of sensors tracks temperatures to determine if heat is needed, and also enables you to tell if any spaces are far from the median, which may indicate a problem line. This serves the boilers with an accurate picture of the building’s heat so that it doesn’t run a cycle based on the data of one apartment with an irregular climate.

The supply sensor is generally used for the control of hydronic systems, monitoring the temperature of the water leaving the system to heat the building.
